User roles

Operator
Operators can only view jobs submitted by them and additionally can have access rights for certain (or all) Submit points and Checkpoints. In Checkpoints routing decisions can be taken for all jobs waiting in the Checkpoint (regardless of how they got there or who submitted them).

If the user is an operator (on all Switch servers the user is connected to), the user interface elements are no longer solely focused on dealing with jobs (like in Switch 09) but the new SwitchClient also offers a message view to operators. An operator has access to the messages and can only unlock his or her own jobs.

The toolbar now contains a number of view buttons on the left, to switch between the jobs view and message view. The messages in the log only contain information and error messages for the jobs that the operator has access to.

Customer
Customers can only view jobs submitted by them. In Checkpoints too, only jobs submitted by them are listed.

This role is typically used with the Enfocus Connect. Customers never see messages and can only unlock their own jobs.

Job manager
Job managers can see all the jobs submitted to the group they belongs to. In checkpoints routing decisions can be taken for all jobs waiting in the checkpoint, regardless of how they got there or who submitted them.

Being a job manager does not change the user interface as described for the operator. However the Content pane shows the jobs and the message view shows the information and error messages of the jobs for all users in the group to which the job manager belongs. An operator has access to the messages and can only unlock his or her own jobs.

Administrator
The administrator has full access rights and can not only see all jobs but also can unlock jobs that have been locked by other users. Has access to the messages.

In checkpoints routing decisions can be taken for all jobs waiting in the checkpoint, regardless of how they got there or who submitted them.
