Configurator Module

The Switch configurator module allows 3rd party Configurators for Switch to become active and be used within a Switch flow. Configurators streamline the connection to a variety of supported 3rd party applications as well as automatically control the output destination for processed files through the 3rd party applications. In addition, with the use of a Configurator, Switch private information, such as hierarchical data or job association metadata is automatically maintained because the file is continually managed in Switch.

For a complete list of which 3rd party applications have Configurators for Switch, visit www.crossroadsworld.com.

After licensing the module, you can load unlimited number of configurators supported by the third party applications. The Execute command and the Generic application flow elements are also part of the Configurator module.

You can use any one of the following methods to install the configurators:
  1. With the help of the installer.
  2. With the help of the Enfocus Pack Manager dialog box which can be accessed by navigating to Help > Manage configurators... .
  3. Download the configurator from the Crossroads website and drag and drop it to the Flow Elements pane. It will be automatically moved to the Configurator category in the Flow Elements pane.
  4. In the contextual menu of a configurator, click Add configurator option to open the Enfocus Pack Manager dialog box from where you can download configurators.

The Configurator category is visible only after you update the license for it.

If you have not licensed the Configurator module and you install a configurator, the Switch application displays an error message when it is started the next time. Click OK button in the error dialog box, however, no flows will be updated and the newly installed configurator will not be visible to user unless the Configurator module is licensed and updated in the application.

Please refer to the Switch Quick Start Guide for more information on how to license and activate this module.
